3 Ways Weed Can Elevate Your Thanksgiving

April 20th, aka 4-20, is any cannabis connoisseur’s favorite holiday, but a close second is Thanksgiving. After all, the holiday typically involves a feast we enjoy only once a year –and marijuana just happens to make food taste divine and stimulate our appetite. Of course, while Thanksgiving revolves around food, it involves far more than that. The holiday also focuses on spending time with family.

However, what that means changes for every person. Sometimes we spend the holiday with our relatives, which can either be great or stress us out, or both. While other times we spend it with our chosen family, made of close friends. Regardless of what family means to us, cannabis can either make your great Thanksgiving even better or, at the very least, help you get through any familial drama that arises.

Stimulate Conversations

When we do get along with our family members, nothing beats a good conversation while sharing a delicious meal. This sense of community can easily make the hours fly by, and before you know it, it’s time for dessert! The only way to elevate this experience further is by indulging in a bit of cannabis sativa.

No matter your chosen method – smoking, edibles, or THC-infused beverage – cannabis sativa strains are sure to stimulate your ideas and keep the conversations flowing. Not to mention, some of the deepest or most profound thoughts arise when we’re high, along with some of our goofiest. Either way, cannabis sativa is sure to elevate any dinner table dialogue.

Ease Your Anxieties

We don’t have any say over the families we’re born into, and sometimes, our relatives do or say things that make us question how it’s possible we’re related to them. Other times, family gatherings result in heated exchanges, hurt feelings, or anxiety.

While being high won’t likely help arguments or prevent hurt feelings, cannabis is notoriously skilled at calming our anxieties. Just a little bit of any marijuana strain with CBD or cannabis indica can help ease our angsts before we arrive and when anything goes awry. Just be careful not to consume too much and fall asleep at the table.

Enjoying the Leftovers

Arguably, the best part of Thanksgiving is enjoying the leftovers. This means you can relish in the elevated flavors of your leftovers while stoned without the distraction of socializing. But also, while your relatives wouldn’t be thrilled to discover THC in their gravy, there are plenty of ways to infuse your leftovers.

The easiest is to add a bit of cannabis oil concentrate to whatever you’re eating after warming it up. However, if you’re feeling a little more creative, you can decarb your weed and either make canna-butter to use with your mashed potatoes or sprinkle it on top of your turkey. Just be aware of the dosage, and don’t overdo it.

Final Thoughts

Family can be complicated, but Thanksgiving shouldn’t be. It’s a time to celebrate our relationships and share a meal with the people we care about the most. In its own way, cannabis encourages the same things. It feels good to connect with others while high, and sometimes, weed can help break down the walls between us and others.
