5 Ways to Let Your Inner Child Play While High

Childhood is a time of exploration, learning, and imagination. Children are always on the hunt for fun and rejoice in new ideas that widen their eyes and churn the wheels of their creativity. But as adults, we sometimes lose this sense of play as our adult responsibilities grow. The good news is there are plenty of ways to reengage our inner child. Doing so becomes even easier after consuming a stimulating Sativa cannabis strain.

Sativa strains are known for stimulating our creativity and energy compared to the more chill and relaxing Indica strains. This makes Sativa a great option to engage with our youthful side no matter which consumption method you choose. Today, we at Greeley Gallery want to share our favorite ways to bring out our inner child and have fun.

Play a Video Game

Watching a movie while stoned is excellent when you’re tired and want to escape reality for a couple of hours. But for an ongoing immersive experience, we recommend video games. Movies end, but you can play video games for hours. It’s easy to become engrossed in video games even when marijuana isn’t involved, but when it is, it takes things to a whole new level. You may even temporarily forget you’re sitting in your living room!

Visit a Local Park

What’s a more powerful reminder of childhood than a park? There are countless activities to bring out your inner child at parks. When was the last time you swung on a swing or went across the monkey bars? We promise these activities are still fun even as adults. Why not take some chalk and draw along the walkways or bring a frisbee to throw with friends?

Arbor Lodge Park is right around the corner from Greeley Gallery’s recreational marijuana dispensary in North Portland. It has two baseball fields, tennis courts, a dog park, and a playground. Check it out next time you stop by!

Dance!

Whether alone or with friends, dancing is a fantastic way to boost endorphins, relieve stress, and get some exercise. Turn on some tunes and let your body move how it wants! Don’t worry about how you look or what anyone else is thinking. Just let loose and shake what your mama gave ya!

Color

Crayons and coloring books are a childhood staple, but there’s no age limit. Head to the grocery store and pick one that calls to you. Not only is coloring cathartic, but it removes any requirements for artist abilities. All you have to do is decide how to color it. It’s even more fun to remove constraints you learned about which colors belong where. If you want to color an elephant red or the grass purple, go for it! Now’s the time to color outside of the lines.

Build a Fort

That’s right. Pull out the sheets and blankets. It’s time to construct a fort! Maybe your parents didn’t allow you to build one when you were younger, but now you’re an adult. And by golly, you can build a living room fort if you want to. Use your couch cushions or chairs for support then drape a sheet over the top, and boom, you have a fort. Next, the only question you have to answer is, what does your inner child want to do while inside it?

Final Thoughts

Childhood doesn’t have to end just because we grow up. Playing is important no matter our age. Sometimes, having fun is pushed to the bottom of our priorities list, but it’s essential to make time. Having fun decreases our stress and provides an outlet for anxieties. Cannabis can help us let go of internal pressures and allow our inner child a chance to emerge. We just have to welcome it.
